Berkley Oil & Gas has a key partnership with Wild Well Control. We share a philosophy around safety, loss prevention, and loss mitigation. For our clients, we have developed two solutions related to well control:
KAP (Kick Assistance Program) - When dealing with a well control incident, early intervention is critical. Under our KAP program, Berkley Oil & Gas will pay up to $50,000 in well control expenses incurred by Wild Well Control required to prevent a pressure incident on an insured well from escalating into a blowout and becoming a major loss.
PCMP (Pollution Control and Mitigation Program) - Pollution from a well out of control can be expensive to clean up and has the potential to cause irreversible reputational damage to all parties involved if the situation is not managed early on in an efficient and effective manner. By contacting Wild Well Control at the onset of a blowout, experienced staff will manage the pollution at the source in the hot zone. This allows early intervention to minimize the environmental impact. The program also assists you with the coordination, remediation, and management of the incident. Additionally, getting us involved early in your well control event may result in you still retaining your no claim bonus.
J.H. Blades and Swett & Crawford operate as a surplus lines broker and managing general underwriter (MGU) for Control of Well insurance on behalf of Berkley Oil & Gas on non-admitted paper (Gemini Insurance Company - A.M.
